Test Vehicle

While the promise of turbine-powered vehicles has been recognized, they have not been reduced to practice for commercial use. As a result, no test bed is available for purposes of evaluating the concepts and components under development at ETV Motors.

Addressing this need, ETVM undertook the development of a proof-of-concept demonstrator EREV (Extended Range Electric Vehicle) to serve as a test vehicle for the company’s ongoing development work.

The company’s researchers and engineers are currently (Summer 2009) testing a proof-of-concept microturbine-based EREV, intended for limited viewing during 2009 Q2 and using commercially available components. The test vehicle is based on a modified Toyota Prius.
